Enjoyed reading your article on ears in New Yorker. Why didn’t you mention the Getty saga which captivated everyone’s ear in the country when grandpa Getty did not pay a ransom & kidnappers sent cut off ear of grandson? This would have been a great addition of moral, frugality, ethics, etc. valued by the Gettys.
