Western Siberia has more mosquitoes than anywhere Ian Frazier has been. Eye mosquitoes fly directly at the eyeball and crash-land there. Ear mosquitoes slam back and forth in the canal. Nose and throat mosquitoes surf in on the breath and keep flying, emitting desperate buzzing as if radioing for backup.
