The invasion of Asian carp differs from other environmental problems in that it slaps you in the head. Silver carp are knocking boaters' glasses off, breaking their noses, chipping their teeth. They escaped from Arkansas catfish ponds in the seventies. For the long term, they seem to have their sights on Canada.
